The Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are powered by SnapDragon processor, the regular Redmi 5 is powered by SnapDragon 450 and a SnapDragon 625 for its higher sibling. A regular Redimi 5 will come with either 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage or 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage, while its higher sibling will have 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage or 4GB w/ 64GB storage. Both has Adreno 506 GPU for better gaming experience.

In terms of the display, the Redmi 5 features 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display and 5.9-inch FHD+ 18:9 display for the plus.

Also, both smartphones will boot on MIUI 9 w/ Android Nougat 7.1.2 on top.

Unfortunately, both of these smartphone will not come with dual camera set-up, but Xiaomi promise with better selfie experience with their Beauty 3.0 technology. Both of the smartphone sports 12MP f/2.2, 1.25 μm w/ LED flash and 5MP w/ soft LED flash for selfies.

A great part is Redmi 5 price starts at 799 yuan or about Php6.1k when converted directly and 999 yuan or about Php7.6k when converted directly. That is pretty affordable for SnapDragon processors!

It'll be available in December 12 in China. No info yet for the Philippine pricing. Staytuned!
