In a bid to reduce the reliance to the Qualcomm and Mediatek, Xiaomi has built their very first owned chipset that offers octa-core Cortex A53 processors and a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz - the Surge S1.
The Xiaomi Mi 5C is the first smartphone to be powered by their owned Surge S1 chipset paired with Mali T860 GPU. The phone is also running on latest Android Nougat 7.1 with MIUI 8 and features 3GB of RAM, 64GB of Internal storage, 12MP f/2.2 rear camera shooter, 8MP selfie camera shooter, and 2,860mAh battery with fast charging technology.
