National Broadband Program is now approved by PRESIDENT DUTERTE

Alright change is finally here, according to Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol's facebook post that PRESIDENT DUTERTE approved the establishments of National Broadband Program during the 13TH Cabinet meeting in Malacañang yesterday, after the presentation made by Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Rodolfo Salalima.

"Pres. Duterte emphasized the needs for faster communications to the country" - Piñol
DICT summitted options to the Office of the President last October 2016 to implement a National Broadband Program as a response to Duterte's marching orders at his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) which he pushes for free Wi-Fi access to more areas in the Philippines.

One of the options includes a network installation from scratch, that will cost the government P77 billion to P200 billion.

Faster internet and cheaper internet in the Philippines is coming soon. There are no complete information yet for this plan.
